Today I’m interviewing an expert in the mortgage industry to get his take on the climate of our current market. Nick Yeargin is the Atlanta Production Manager for Supreme Lending. Nick has 20 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage world. In this interview he offers his perspective on how our current climate during the COVID19 crisis relates to his experience during the mortgage and housing crisis of 2008. Nick also discusses what buyers and sellers should know in today’s very unique market.
The good news is that homes are still selling in Atlanta. In the past week over 1500 homes have gone under contract for the entire MLS in Georgia. That number is exactly in line with this previous week. Almost now change there. However, if we look at the numbers from the first week of March before the shelter-in-place order was put in place, we’re about 25% down from that number. And April is historically a busier month for real estate than March. So, we are a bit behind. But not nearly as bad as some were projecting.
Check out some of the recently sold homes in Atlanta below. And if you’re interested in previewing any active listings, try out the search function below that. Have a great day!
